Did you know that during WWII the United States in general established 175 Prisoners- of-War (POW) camps? Most notable camps include Fort McCoy and Camp Fort Sheridan. In Wisconsin, alone, there were 38 camps that housed a total of 20,000 POW’s. This presentation is an overview of US POW camps and specific information regarding Wisconsin POW camps. We will hear the stories of those contained, those who worked alongside them, and those that might have lived in their community.
