At Community UMC, we joyfully welcome children and families as an essential part of our church family—today, not just someday. From the Nursery and Children’s Chapel to Grace Space and family-friendly gatherings, every laugh, question, and wiggle is a celebration of God’s love at work. Our children inspired this change.
As Family Ministry has grown and Children's Chapel has flourished at Community UMC, we've discovered something incredible—our kids are adventurous, curious, and excited to learn about God. They aren't just students; they're Trailblazers.
That's why we're excited to introduce Trailblazers Kids, our newly reimagined children's ministry. Inspired by Isaiah 40:3, "Prepare the way of the Lord," every lesson, activity, and adventure is designed to help children discover God's love while growing in faith, courage, and purpose.
Beginning September 20, 2026, we'll embark on a year of imaginative journeys, hands-on learning, service, and exciting adventures that help kids explore God's world and their place in it.

Every Sunday is a new adventure!
Join us as we explore the Bible through exciting stories, hands-on activities, games, and discoveries that help children see how God's Word connects to everyday life. From the heroes of the Old Testament to the parables of Jesus, every lesson points us toward God's love and purpose for us.
As they journey through the year, every Trailblazer will earn a unique Adventure Badge to celebrate what they've learned and the milestones they've reached. It's a fun way to remember each adventure while building a lifelong faith.

Follow Our Trail
Wonder where the Trailblazers are headed next?
Each week, visit our Trail Log outside the Revelation Room to see where our Trailblazers have been, what they've learned, and which adventure is coming next. As children earn new Adventure Badges and complete each week's journey, our larger-than-life hiking log will grow right alongside them.
It's a fun way for families and the entire congregation to celebrate our children's faith journey, encourage them along the trail, and see firsthand how God is at work through Trailblazers Kids.

Grace Space
Grace Space is a special area at the front of the Sanctuary where young children can engage in worship in age-appropriate ways. It’s filled with materials that help them connect with what’s happening—children’s Bibles, books, coloring and drawing supplies, soft toys, and activities related to the week’s scripture theme.
During special services, like the Cantata, children remain in the Sanctuary—and Grace Space is the perfect spot for them to experience worship comfortably and joyfully.
