Community UMC Reads

Welcome to CUMC Reads — a Community UMC literacy project.

Each year, staff members and friends of Community UMC share their favorite board books to raise awareness for one of our nonprofit partners, A Book Ahead.

A Book Ahead provides free books to underserved children ages 0–5 in Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Their mission is simple and powerful:
to give each child a book for every month of the year — building early literacy skills and encouraging positive parent-child interaction.

By putting books into the hands of young children, A Book Ahead helps give every child a jumpstart for entering school and continued success in the years ahead.

Through CUMC Reads, we celebrate the joy of reading while supporting a mission that changes stories — one book at a time.
