At Community UMC, we’re honored to walk with you through life’s sacred moments—baptisms, weddings, and funerals. Whether celebrating joy or offering comfort, we’re here to support you with faith, care, and love.

Weddings

Weddings at Community UMC are special celebrations of love, faith, and commitment. We’re honored to share in this sacred moment with you and your family.

Members of Community UMC — or those whose parents or grandparents have been pledging members for at least one year — are welcome to reserve wedding dates at any time. For couples who are not members, we gladly open our doors with a non-member wedding fee.

To help ensure everything runs smoothly, rehearsals are scheduled at the same time as the wedding. Pre-wedding counseling is part of our preparation process, offering couples time to grow together in faith and readiness for marriage.

While our pastor is not required to officiate, all guest clergy must be approved by the Lead Pastor, who oversees the use of our sanctuary for weddings.

Your wedding at Community UMC will be more than a ceremony—it’s a celebration of God’s love and a beginning blessed by faith, family, and community.

Funerals

Funerals and memorial services at Community UMC are sacred moments to honor life, offer comfort, and celebrate the promise of resurrection. We consider it a privilege to walk beside families during their time of loss.

At the discretion of the pastor, we typically honor all requests for funerals—whether from members or non-members of our congregation. Member services take priority in scheduling and will be accommodated before other campus events, with the exception of regular worship and large, all-church gatherings or events.

Our goal is to provide a compassionate, faith-filled service that reflects the life and love of the one being remembered, while surrounding their family with care and support.

Baptisms

Baptism is a sacred celebration of God’s grace and the Church’s way of welcoming someone into the family of faith. In baptism, God’s promises are proclaimed, and parents, sponsors, and our congregation commit to loving and supporting this child of God as they grow in faith.

Parents do not need to be members of Community UMC to have their child baptized, though being part of the church community helps children experience what it means to live as one of God’s beloved. Sponsors (or godparents) need not be Methodist but should be active Christians.

All baptisms take place within the context of worship, where the whole congregation joins in celebrating and welcoming the newly baptized into the family of faith.
