Adult Bible Study – “Faith is the Answer, but What are the Questions”
by James W. Moore   I believe that with all of my heart, but I also know that there are still a number of tough questions we grapple with daily in these challenging times. How does faith help us when problems arise? How does the Christian faith strengthen us when suffering or tragedy or heartache explodes into our lives? Did Jesus really mean for us to love everybody? How does the Holy Spirit help us? How do we keep our faith healthy? In this hectic world with so many things crying out for our allegiance and support, who can we trust?
Faith is the answer, of course, but still…what are the questions? And how do we respond to them honestly, creatively, and redemptively? That is the adventure before us. These, and other questions, are addressed in this book. The book includes sixteen chapters and a study guide.  Meets at 9:30 in the Highland Room.

<>The Forum meets at 9:30 in the Disciple Room.

We are pleased to announce our new 12 week series Eclipsing Empire: Paul, Rome, and the Kingdom of God.

Join preeminent New Testament scholars Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan on location in Turkey as they trace the Apostle Paul’s footsteps throughout the Roman Empire. This 12-session DVD and web-based study explores fresh insights into Paul’s message of the Kingdom of God, its challenge to Roman imperial theology, and the apostle’s radical relevance for today.

On Going Programs
We also offer weekday morning fellowship/Bible studies.  A men's group meets every Monday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for breakfast and spiritual renewal.  Another group of men and women meet every Wednesday morning for fellowship and book study at Heinemann's in Brookfield at 7:00 a.m.  Format is informal and visitors are welcome.

CUMC also offers 34-week Bible studies called DISCIPLE which emphasize disciplined reading of scripture.  Students are challenged to submit themselves to examination by scripture, to put themselves under the power of God's word and to be changed by God's word.   We offer classes in DISCIPLE I, II, III and IV.  Another related course, Jesus in the Gospels, is also offered. Registration begins in late spring and classes start in early fall.
